A timber house set among pines, designed to disappear into the forest it looks out on.
The clients wanted a weekend home that felt like a cabin but lived like a house. We kept the footprint small, lifted it off the ground to protect the roots, and opened every room toward the trees.

01Brief
The site was a steep, wooded plot with no road access in winter. The family wanted space for guests without losing the feeling of being alone in the forest.

02Concept
Raising the house on slender columns protected the roots and gave the living room a view over the canopy. The upper volume shifts to shade the glass from the summer sun.

03Result
Charred larch makes the house almost disappear between the trunks, while oak floors and wide windows keep the interior bright through every season.
